Role Description:

 

The Surveillance Officer is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for monitoring security systems and activity across assigned locations. Daily tasks include observing live and recorded camera feeds, identifying suspicious behavior or potential threats, and promptly reporting incidents according to established protocols. The individual will prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports, maintain detailed logs, and support investigations by preserving and reviewing surveillance footage. The role also involves coordinating with on-site security personnel, law enforcement, or management when necessary, and providing guidance on security procedures to help ensure a safe environment. The Surveillance Officer is expected to follow company policies, maintain confidentiality, and operate surveillance equipment with a high level of attention to detail and professionalism.

Qualifications

 

• Strong analytical skills for monitoring activity, identifying patterns, and assessing potential risks.

• Supervisory skills to provide direction, support team coordination, and assist in overseeing security operations when required.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and external agencies, and for conveying information clearly under pressure.

• Proficiency in report writing to document incidents, maintain logs, and support internal reviews or investigations.

• Familiarity with trading-related environments or high-value asset protection is beneficial when monitoring financial or commercial settings.

• Experience with CCTV systems, access control tools, and other surveillance technologies.

• Ability to remain alert for extended periods, respond quickly to incidents, and follow established security protocols.

• High level of integrity, reliability, and respect for confidentiality and privacy standards.

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional security or criminal justice training or certifications are an advantage.
