Role Description:

The Unarmed Security Officer is a full-time, on-site position. In this role, the Officer monitors assigned premises, conducts regular patrols, and observes activity to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Daily tasks include maintaining a visible security presence, enforcing site rules and regulations, and promptly reporting incidents, safety hazards, and suspicious behavior to supervisors or appropriate authorities. The Officer may check identification, control access points, respond to alarms, and assist visitors, tenants, or employees with directions and basic information. Accurate documentation of incidents, completion of shift reports, and adherence to company policies and post orders are essential parts of the position.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain alert, observant, and calm while monitoring premises and conducting foot or stationary patrols.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, visitors, and team members, and for preparing clear incident reports.

• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment when enforcing rules, handling conflicts, and diffusing tense situations.

• Capacity to follow detailed instructions, post orders, and safety protocols, and to respond appropriately to emergencies or unusual situations.

• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally climb stairs for extended periods, and to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is beneficial but not required.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required local or state security credentials or licenses; clean background and reliable transportation preferred.
